Forge — Privacy policy

Effective October 9, 2026

Forge is an offline workout log. Your workouts live on your device and nothing is collected. If Automatic backups is on, Forge also saves backup copies to your own iCloud so you can restore them on a new phone.

What we collect

Nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no crash reporting, and no third-party trackers. Forge has no server and sends nothing to us. The only data that can leave the app is a backup copy, described under Backups below, and it goes to your own iCloud or wherever you send an export, never to us.

Where your data lives

Everything you log — workouts, measurements, progress photos metadata — is stored in the app's private storage on your phone. Progress photos are saved to your device's photo library; the app keeps only the date, pose, and a reference to find them again. If Automatic backups is on, dated backup copies of your workout database are also saved to the Forge folder in your iCloud Drive.

Data deletion

Delete the app to delete the data on your phone. If you used Automatic backups, delete the backup files from the Forge folder in iCloud Drive to remove those too. We cannot see, access, or recover your data because we never receive it.

Backups

With Automatic backups on (the default when iCloud is available), Forge saves dated backup copies of your workout database to the Forge folder in your own iCloud Drive, where they are visible in the Files app. A new phone signed in to the same iCloud account can restore from them. You can turn Automatic backups off any time in Settings; turning it off stops new copies. Forge can also export a copy of your workout database via the iOS share sheet (Settings → Back up my data). That file goes wherever you send it: your email, your files, your Mac. We never see any of it.
